There area many different pieces to an auto insurance policy.  At Tucker Insurance, we enjoy taking the time to explain your coverage so that you understand what you are paying for.  Your auto insurance can protect you from lawsuits out of liability and your vehicles from a collision, fire or theft.  You can also add additional coverage for rental car, roadside assistance and medical expenses. One of our agents can help walk you through the available options and their cost so that you can make an informed decision on what's important to you.

  • Liability - Every policy includes liability.  This coverage is for damage that you cause to others.  It helps keep you from being sued and keeps you legal.  While this coverage is sometimes considered last, it is one of the most important pieces of your policy.  Not having high enough limits can put your family in a legal mess and cost you thousands.  Increasing your limits usually causes a very small increase on your policy, but can be a major difference in the cost of an accident.

  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist - This is an optional coverage that is highly recommended.  This protects you and your passengers from damages to your vehicles as well as your injuries if someone hits you without insurance.  Even though the law requires you to carry insurance to drive, there are many vehicles on the road not following these guidelines.  Uninsured motorist protects you from them.  It also provides coverage for a hit and run, where the other party's information is not available.  In the event that the other party has insurance, but your injuries are more than what their policy covers, your underinsured motorist will cover the excess.

  • Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection -  This is another coverage for you and your passengers.  They offer coverage for medical expenses for you, regardless of who is at fault.  Medical payments will cover medical expenses.  Personal injury protection is more broad.  It offers coverage for almost any expenses incurred due to an injury.

  • Collision - Collision coverage is part 1 of what people call "full coverage".  Collision covers your vehicle from a crash.  When you vehicle collides with something, another vehicle, building, etc; this coverage applies.  You select the deductible, which is your responsibility at the time of a loss, and the company will cover the rest of your damages.

  • Comprehensive - Comprehensive is part 2 of what people call "full coverage".  These two coverages together "full cover" your vehicle itself, from any type of loss.  Comprehensive includes any loss that is not accident related.  This can include theft, fire, vandalism, flood or much more.

  • Roadside Assistance - This very inexpensive coverage provides many benefits.  They include coverage if you lock your keys in the car, need a tow truck, vehicle fluids or even need a flat tire changed.  Usually for only a couple dollars extra each month.

  • Rental Car - Adding rental car helps reduce the out of pocket expenses in the event of a loss.  There are many options for what you can select as a daily limit.  This amount will cover the expense of a rental car in the event of a loss.

  • Extras - There are a variety of extra options that are available on auto insurance.  Some examples include custom equipment, new car replacement, accident forgiveness and a diminishing deductible.  Your agent can review which of these are available with you.

There are many vehicles that aren't included on a standard auto insurance policy, although they do mostly have the same coverage options.

  • Motor-homes - Motor-homes are not listed on an auto policy like an RV or travel trailer.  They are covered separately.  Unlike a standard auto policy, this policy allows you to select an "agreed amount" to insure your home away from home.

  • Motorcycles - While these birds of the road can bring a feeling of solace and freedom, they also come with a high risk.  Make sure you know exactly what coverage you do and do not have on this policy to make sure that if you are injured you are covered.  Your agent can help walk you through these options.

  • Utility Vehicles - From four wheelers to golf carts to all terrain vehicles, whatever it is that fills your fun weekends, we can cover it.  We'll make sure those extra toys you've worked so hard for are covered.

  • Watercraft - We don't stop when to toys meet the water.  We can protect your jet-skis, bass boats, sailboats, yachts and more.  With access to so many companies, we can find the right policy for your vessel.

Whatever you are riding, Tucker Insurance can find the best price for the best policy.  We specialize in options, and bringing you choices.  Let us do the work for you and give us a call today.
